New Smyrna Beach City is a city in the Volusia County, Florida, United States. In 2000, city's population was 20048 inhabitants. Its population was estimated at 23325 in July 2008, giving it the 145th largest population among Florida. Its area is just over 30.78 mi˛ (79.72 square kilometre), of which, 27.69 square miles (71.72 square kilometre) of it is land and 3.09 square miles (8 square kilometre) of it is water, makes it the 44th largest by total area in Florida.
