New Salem Borough is one of the borough of York County, Pennsylvania, located towards the Northeastern Region (Mid-Atlantic) of United States. The population of the borough was 648 as per the 2000 census data. Its population in July 2008 was estimated to be about 641, It is Pennsylvania's 376th smallest by population . The borough spans an area of 0.45 mi˛ (1.17 square kilometre), making it Pennsylvania's 277th smallest by total area.
