New Port Richey City is a city located in Pasco County, Florida, in the Southern Region (South Atlantic) of United States. According to the latest population census dating back to 2000, the New Port Richey City is home to 16117 inhabitants. Its population was estimated at 17578 in July 2008, It is Florida's 176th largest by population . According to the U.S. Census Bureau, the city has a total area of 4.58 sq mi (11.86 sq km), of which, 4.51 square miles (11.68 sq km) of it is land and 0.07 square miles (0.18 sq km) of it is water, giving it the 361st largest by total area among Florida.

The racial or ethnic makeup of the city was 94.09% White, 1% Black or African American, 0.53% American Indian, 0.94% Asian, 0.09% Native Hawaiian, 1.89% from two or more races and 1.46% Other races.
