New London County is a United States county located in the United States of Connecticut. The population of county in 2000 stood at 259088 as per the Census data. Its population was estimated at 264519 in July 2008, It is fourth most populous county in Connecticut. The county extends throughout a territory of 771.66 miē (1998.59 kmē ), of which, 665.91 square miles (1724.7 kmē) of it is land and 105.75 square miles (273.89 kmē) of it is water, giving it the fourth largest by total area among Connecticut's county. It is ranks third in the size of its inland waterways in Connecticut.
