New Iberia City is a city located in Iberia Parish, Louisiana, in the Southern Region (West South Central) of United States. In 2000, city's population was 32623 inhabitants. As of July 2008, the estimated population of the city is 32959, It is the 12th most populous in the U.S. state of Louisiana. The city encompasses an area of 10.56 sq mi (27.35 sq km), it is the 52nd largest in terms of geographical size.

As of the census of 2000, there were 32623 people in the city, organized into 400 households, and 290 families residing in the city. The population density was 3088.8 people per square mile (1192.59/kmē), it would be the 21st most densely populated city in the U.S. state of Louisiana.
