New Hope City is a city located in Hennepin County, Minnesota, in the Midwestern Region (West North Central) of United States. It is home to over 20873 people (2000 census). The city's estimated population as of July 2008 was 20428, making it Minnesota's 41st largest. It covers total area of 5.11 square miles (13.23 sq km), of which, 5.09 square miles (13.18 sq km) of it is land and 0.02 square miles (0.05 sq km) of it is water, it is the 150th largest in terms of geographical size.

As of the census of 2000, there were 20873 residents, 8665 households, and 5271 families in the city. The population density was 4098.6 people per square mile (1582.48/kmē), it is 14th most densely populated city in Minnesota.
