New Hope City is one of the city of Madison County, Alabama, located towards the Southern Region (East South Central) of United States. As of 2000 the population was 2539. In July 2008, its estimated population was 2755, It is 163rd most populous in Alabama. The city has a total area of 8.85 mi˛ (22.92 square kilometre), of which, 8.83 square miles (22.87 square kilometre) of it is land and 0.02 square miles (0.05 square kilometre) of it is water, making it the 151st largest by size in Alabama.

As of the census of 2000, there were 2539 people, 1033 households, and 729 families living in the city. The population density was 287.6 people per square mile (111.04/km˛), it is 255th most densely populated city in Alabama.
