New Hempstead Village is a one of the Rockland County, New York, located in Northeastern Region (Mid-Atlantic) of United States. As of 2000 the population was 4767. Its population in July 2008 was estimated to be about 4838, It is the 355th most populous in the U.S. state of New York. The city has a total area of 2.85 sq mi (7.38 kmē), of which, 2.84 square miles (7.36 kmē) of it is land and 0.01 square miles (0.03 kmē) of it is water, making it the 399th largest by size in New York.

As of the census of 2000, there were 4767 people, 1282 households, and 1160 families living in the city. The population density was 1678.8 people per square mile (648.19/kmē), making it the 468th most densely populated city in New York. There were 1300 housing units at an average density of 457.7 per square mile (176.72/kmē). The average household size was 3.69 and the average family size was 3.88.
