New Berlin City, Wisconsin is a city of the Waukesha County, Wisconsin, United States. As per the 2000 census, city has a population of 38220 inhabitants. As of July 2008, the estimated population of the city is 38649, It is Wisconsin's 18th largest by population . The city spans an area of 36.92 square miles (95.62 kmē), of which, 36.84 square miles (95.42 kmē) of it is land and 0.08 square miles (0.21 kmē) of it is water, making it Wisconsin's seventh largest by total area.

As of the census of 2000, there were 38220 residents, 76 households, and 48 families in the city. The population density was 1037.4 people per square mile (400.54/kmē), making it the 229th most densely populated city in Wisconsin. There were 14921 housing units at an average density of 405 per square mile (156.37/kmē). It has an average household size was 2.62 persons, and the average family size was 3.03 persons.
