Nevada is a United States's state located in the Western Region (Mountain) of United States. The state has a population of 1998257 as per the 2000 census data. Its population was estimated at 2600167 in July 2008, It is the 16th least populous in the U.S. state of America. The state encompasses an area of 110560.71 sq mi (286350.92 sq km ), of which, 109825.99 square miles (284448.01 sq km) of it is land and 734.71 square miles (1902.89 sq km) of it is water, makes it the seventh largest by total area in United States.

The population density was 18.2 people per square mile (7.03/kmē), it is United States's eighth least densely populated state. There were 827457 housing units at an average density of 7.5 per square mile (2.9/kmē). The average household size was 2.62 persons, and the average family size was 3.14 persons. In the state Age distribution was 25.6% under the age of 18, 9% from 18 to 24, 31.5% from 25 to 44, 23% from 45 to 64, and 11% who were 65 or older. For every 100 males there were 96.3 females. For every 100 males age 18 and over, there were 96.9 females. The median age is 35 years, The median age of males was 34.5 years, for females the median age was 35.6 years. The state's estimated population as of July 2008 was 1998257, The racial or ethnic makeup of the state was 1501886 White, 135477 Black or African American, 26420 American Indian, 90266 Asian, 8426 Native Hawaiian, 76428 from two or more races and 159354 Ohter races.
