Nesquehoning Borough is a borough in the Carbon County, Pennsylvania, United States. According to the 2000 census it had a population of 3288 inhabitants. According to July 2008 Census Bureau estimates, the population of the borough is 3303, It is the 424th most populous in the U.S. state of Pennsylvania. According to the U.S. Census Bureau, the borough has a total area of 21.58 sq mi (55.89 kmē), of which, 21.16 square miles (54.8 kmē) of it is land and 0.41 square miles (1.06 kmē) of it is water, makes it the 13th largest by total area in Pennsylvania.

According to 2000 Census Bureau, there were 3288 people, 1355 households, and 864 families residing in the borough. The population density was 155.4 people per square mile (60/kmē), it is Pennsylvania's 54th least densely populated borough. There were 1599 housing units at an average density of 75.6 per square mile (29.19/kmē). It has an average household size was 2.3 persons, and the average family size was 2.89 persons. In the borough the population was spread out, with 18.8% under the age of 18, 8.3% from 18 to 24, 28.7% from 25 to 44, 23% from 45 to 64, and 21.3% who were 65 or older. For every 100 females there were 98.9 males. For every 100 females age 18 and over, there were 96.3 males. The median age was 40.9 years, the median age of male residents at 38.4 and the median age of female residents at 44.6. The racial or ethnic makeup of the borough was 97.69% White, 0.64% Black or African American, 0.24% American Indian, 0.43% Asian, 0% Native Hawaiian, 0.7% from two or more races and 0.3% Other races.
