Nemaha County is a county in the United States of Kansas. As of 2000 the population was 10717. It has an estimated population (as of July 2008) of 10112, making it the 39th most populous county in Kansas. The county extends throughout a territory of 719.4 sq mi (1863.24 sq km ), of which, 717.99 square miles (1859.59 sq km) of it is land and 1.41 square miles (3.65 sq km) of it is water, it is the 62nd largest in terms of geographical size.

The population density was 14.9 people per square mile (5.75/kmē), it is Kansas's 41st most densely populated county. The population's age distribution was 28.5% under the age of 18, 6% from 18 to 24, 24.1% from 25 to 44, 19.4% from 45 to 64, and 22% who were 65 or older. For every 100 females there were 97 males. For every 100 females age 18 and over, there were 95.1 males. The July 2008 population estimate is 10112, The racial or ethnic makeup of the county was 9889 White, 75 Black or African American, 54 American Indian, 11 Asian, 6 Native Hawaiian, and 77 from two or more races.
