Nemaha County is a county in the United States of Kansas. As of 2000 the population was 10717. It has an estimated population (as of July 2008) of 10112, making it the 39th most populous county in Kansas. The county extends throughout a territory of 719.4 sq mi (1863.24 sq km ), of which, 717.99 square miles (1859.59 sq km) of it is land and 1.41 square miles (3.65 sq km) of it is water, it is the 62nd largest in terms of geographical size.

For every 100 females age 18 and over, there were 95.1 males. The July 2008 population estimate is 10112, The racial or ethnic makeup of the county was 9889 White, 75 Black or African American, 54 American Indian, 11 Asian, 6 Native Hawaiian, and 77 from two or more races.
