Naugatuck Borough is a one of the New Haven County, Connecticut, located in Northeastern Region (New England) of United States. As of 2000 the population was 30989. According to July 2008 Census Bureau estimates, the population of the borough is 31931, making it the 21st most populous in Connecticut. The borough spans an area of 16.45 sq mi (42.61 square kilometre), of which, 16.39 square miles (42.45 square kilometre) of it is land and 0.06 square miles (0.16 square kilometre) of it is water, giving it the 22nd largest by total area among Connecticut.

As of the census of 2000, there were 30989 people in the borough, organized into 11829 households, and 8297 families residing in the borough. The population density was 1890.9 people per square mile (730.08/kmē), making it the 44th most densely populated borough in Connecticut. There were 12341 housing units at an average density of 753 per square mile (290.73/kmē). The average household size was 2.6 and the average family size was 3.13. In the Naugatuck Borough, 26.9% of the population was under the age of 18, 7.3% were 18 to 24, 33.1% were 25 to 44, 21% were 45 to 64, and 11.7% who were 65 or older. For every 100 females there were 94.7 males. For every 100 females age 18 and over, there were 90.5 males. The median age was 35.5 years, The median age of males was 34.3 years, for females the median age was 36.7 years.
