Natchitoches Parish is a parish located in the United States of Louisiana. In 2000, the population was 39080. Its population was estimated at 39576 in July 2008, It is 29th most populous parish in Louisiana. It has total area of 1299.3 sq mi (3365.17 kmē), of which, 1255.45 square miles (3251.6 kmē) of it is land and 43.85 square miles (113.57 kmē) of it is water, making it the ninth largest by size in Louisiana.

In the parish the population was distributed as follows: 26% under the age of 18, 17.9% from 18 to 24, 24.3% from 25 to 44, 19.7% from 45 to 64, and 12.1% who were 65 or older. For every 100 females there were 90.6 males. For every 100 females age 18 and over, there were 85.8 males. The July 2008 population estimate is 39576, The racial or ethnic makeup of the parish was 57.89% White, 39.26% Black or African American, 1.13% American Indian, 0.62% Asian, 0.03% Native Hawaiian, and 1.07% from two or more races.
