Nassau County is a one of the county from New York's 62 counties, located in Northeastern Region (Mid-Atlantic) of United States. As per the 2000 census, county has a population of 1334544 inhabitants. According to July 2008 Census Bureau estimates, the population of the county is 1351625, It is sixth most populous county in New York. The county spans an area of 453.08 sq mi (1173.47 square kilometre), of which, 286.69 square miles (742.52 square kilometre) of it is land and 166.39 square miles (430.95 square kilometre) of it is water, making it New York's 14th smallest county by total area.

As of the census of 2000, there were 1334544 residents, 447387 households, and 347026 families in the county. The population density was 4655 people per square mile (1797.31/kmē), making it the sixth most densely populated county in New York. There were 458151 housing units at an average density of 1598.1 per square mile (617.03/kmē). It has an average household size was 2.93 persons, and the average family size was 3.34 persons. In the county the population was spread out, with 24.7% under the age of 18, 7.3% from 18 to 24, 28.9% from 25 to 44, 24% from 45 to 64, and 15% who were 65 or older. For every 100 females there were 92.8 males. For every 100 females age 18 and over, there were 89 males. As of July 2008, the estimated population of the county is 1351625, The racial makeup of the county was 80.1% White, 11.32% Black or African American, 0.26% American Indian, 7.02% Asian, 0.07% Native Hawaiian, and 1.23% from two or more races.

Of which, total enrollment of student are in, 30116 nursery or pri school, 18738 kindergarten, 152970 elementary school, 74476 high school and 81375 College graduate school.
