Nanakuli Cdp is a census designated place located in Honolulu County, Hawaii, in the Western Region (Pacific) of United States. In 2000, the population was 10814. It is the 19th largest by population in the U.S. state of Hawaii. It has total area of 5.75 mi˛ (14.89 sq km), of which, 2.52 square miles (6.53 sq km) of it is land and 3.22 square miles (8.34 sq km) of it is water, making it the 47th largest by size in Hawaii. It is ranks eighth in the size of its inland waterways in Hawaii.

As of the census of 2000, there were 10814 people in the census designated place, organized into 2324 households, and 2097 families living in the census designated place. The population density was 4287.6 people per square mile (1655.45/km˛), it is the 24th most densely populated census designated place in the U.S. state of Hawaii. There were 2504 housing units at an average density of 993.7 per square mile (383.67/km˛). The average household size was 4.65 persons, and the average family size was 4.74 persons.
