Myrtle Beach City, Horry County, South Carolina is a city located in the Southern Region (South Atlantic) of United States. According to the 2000 census it had a population of 22759 inhabitants. As of July 2008, the estimated population was 30596, It is 15th most populous in South Carolina. The city spans an area of 16.8 sq mi (43.51 square kilometre), of which, 16.78 square miles (43.46 square kilometre) of it is land and 0.02 square miles (0.05 square kilometre) of it is water, it is the 18th largest by area in the U.S. state of South Carolina.

As of the census of 2000, there were 22759 people, 10413 households, and 5410 families residing in the city.
