Muskego City is a city located in Waukesha County, Wisconsin, in the Midwestern Region (East North Central) of United States. Muskego City had an official population of 21397 in 2000. In July 2008, its estimated population was 23234, It is the 31st largest in terms of population. The city has a total area of 35.88 sq mi (92.93 square kilometre), of which, 31.23 square miles (80.89 square kilometre) of it is land and 4.66 square miles (12.07 square kilometre) of it is water, it is the eighth largest by area in the U.S. state of Wisconsin. It is ranks eighth in the size of its inland waterways in Wisconsin.

As of the census of 2000, there were 21397 people, 76 households, and 48 families living in the city. The population density was 685.2 people per square mile (264.56/kmē), making its Wisconsin's 365th most densely populated city. There were 7699 housing units at an average density of 246.5 per square mile (95.17/kmē). The average household size was 2.8 persons, and the average family size was 3.13 persons.
