The city's estimated population as of July 2008 was 97918, making it California's 171st largest. It has total area of 28.43 miē (73.63 kmē), of which, 28.39 square miles (73.53 kmē) of it is land and 0.04 square miles (0.1 kmē) of it is water, it is the 94th largest in terms of geographical size.
