Munising City is one of the city of Alger County, Michigan, located towards the Midwestern Region (East North Central) of United States. The population of the city was 2539 as per the 2000 census data. The city's estimated population as of July 2008 was 2311, making it Michigan's 272nd largest. The city extends throughout a territory of 9.13 sq mi (23.65 sq km ), of which, 5.36 square miles (13.88 sq km) of it is land and 3.78 square miles (9.79 sq km) of it is water, making it the 69th largest by size in Michigan. It is ranks 17 in the size of its inland waterways in Michigan.
