Mount Sterling City is a city in the Montgomery County, Kentucky, United States. According to the 2000 census it had a population of 5876 inhabitants. It has an estimated population (as of July 2008) of 6921, It is the 80th most populous in the U.S. state of Kentucky. The city spans an area of 3.44 sq mi (8.91 sq km), giving it the 127th largest by total area among Kentucky.
