Mount Pleasant Town is a town located in the Charleston County, South Carolina, United States. The town has a population of 47609 as per the 2000 census data. As of July 2008, the estimated population was 65472, making it South Carolina's sixth largest. According to the U.S. Census Bureau, the town has a total area of 49.54 square miles (128.31 kmē), of which, 41.89 square miles (108.49 kmē) of it is land and 7.65 square miles (19.81 kmē) of it is water, it is the fifth largest in terms of geographical size. It is ranks third in the size of its inland waterways in South Carolina.
