Mount Holly City is a city located in the Gaston County, North Carolina, United States. The city has a population of 9618 as per the 2000 census data. The July 2008 population estimate is 10081, making it North Carolina's 70th largest. Its area is just over 7.98 sq mi (20.67 kmē), of which, 7.78 square miles (20.15 kmē) of it is land and 0.2 square miles (0.52 kmē) of it is water, it is the 99th largest in terms of geographical size.
