Mound Valley City is a city located in Labette County, Kansas, in the Midwestern Region (West North Central) of United States. As per the 2000 census, city has a population of 418 inhabitants. In July 2008, its estimated population was 407, making it Kansas's 330th largest. The city has a total area of 0.66 sq mi (1.71 square kilometre), giving it the 257th largest by total area among Kansas.

As of the census of 2000, there were 418 people, 168 households, and 115 families living in the city. The population density was 636.5 people per square mile (245.75/kmē), giving it the 174th least densely populated city among the Kansas. There were 190 housing units at an average density of 287.9 per square mile (111.16/kmē). The average household size was 2.49 people, and the average family size was 3.05 people.
