Mound City is a United States city located in the Hennepin County, Minnesota, United States. The population of city in 2000 stood at 9435 as per the Census data. As of July 2008, the estimated population was 9546, It is 88th most populous in Minnesota. It has total area of 4.92 square miles (12.74 sq km), of which, 2.94 square miles (7.61 sq km) of it is land and 1.97 square miles (5.1 sq km) of it is water, making it Minnesota's 158th largest by total area.
