Morton City is one of the city of Scott County, Mississippi, located towards the Southern Region (East South Central) of United States. In 2000, the population was 3482. Its population was estimated at 3437 in July 2008, It is 83rd most populous in Mississippi. The city extends throughout a territory of 6.76 square miles (17.51 square kilometre ), of which, 6.72 square miles (17.4 square kilometre) of it is land and 0.04 square miles (0.1 square kilometre) of it is water, it is the 90th largest in terms of geographical size.

As of the census of 2000, there were 3482 people, 1197 households, and 852 families residing in the city. The population density was 517.9 people per square mile (199.96/kmē), it would be the 177th most densely populated city in the U.S. state of Mississippi.
