Morgantown City is one of the city of Butler County, Kentucky, located towards the Southern Region (East South Central) of United States. The population of the city was 2544 as per the 2000 census data. Its population in July 2008 was estimated to be about 2564, It is Kentucky's 143rd largest by population . It is spread over 3.37 mi˛ (8.73 sq km), it is the 130th largest by area in the U.S. state of Kentucky.
