Morgan County is a United States county located in the United States of Ohio. It is home to over 14897 people (2000 census). The county's estimated population as of July 2008 was 14510, giving it the fourth smallest population among Ohio's county. According to the U.S. Census Bureau, the county has a total area of 421.86 sq mi (1092.61 kmē), of which, 417.66 square miles (1081.73 kmē) of it is land and 4.2 square miles (10.88 kmē) of it is water, it is the 59th largest by area in the U.S. state of Ohio.

The population density was 35.7 people per square mile (13.78/kmē), giving it the fourth least densely populated county among the Ohio. In the Morgan County, 25.3% of the population was under the age of 18, 7.8% were 18 to 24, 26.3% were 25 to 44, 25% were 45 to 64, and 15.6% who were 65 or older. The county's estimated population as of July 2008 was 14510, The racial or ethnic makeup of the county was 93.1% White, 3.69% Black or African American, 0.37% American Indian, 0.08% Asian, 0% Native Hawaiian, and 2.76% from two or more races.
