Morgan County is a one of the county from Kentucky's 120 counties, located in Southern Region (East South Central) of United States. In 2000, county's population was 13948 inhabitants. The July 2008 population estimate is 14156, making it the 79th most populous county in Kentucky. The county comprises an area of 383.73 square miles (993.86 kmē), of which, 381.26 square miles (987.46 kmē) of it is land and 2.47 square miles (6.4 kmē) of it is water, making it the 39th largest by size in Kentucky.

The population density was 36.6 people per square mile (14.13/kmē), making it the 25th least densely populated county in Kentucky. There were 5487 housing units at an average density of 14.4 per square mile (5.56/kmē). The average household size was 2.55 persons, and the average family size was 2.97 persons. In the county the population was spread out, with 22.4% under the age of 18, 10.6% from 18 to 24, 32.9% from 25 to 44, 22.3% from 45 to 64, and 11.8% who were 65 or older. For every 100 males there were 81.1 females. For every 100 males age 18 and over, there were 77.9 females. In July 2008, its estimated population was 14156, The racial or ethnic makeup of the county was 94.44% White, 4.55% Black or African American, 0.16% American Indian, 0.13% Asian, 0.02% Native Hawaiian, and 0.71% from two or more races.
