Morgan County is a one of the county from Indiana's 92 counties, located in Midwestern Region (East North Central) of United States. As per the 2000 census, county has a population of 66689 inhabitants. The July 2008 population estimate is 70668, It is the 22nd most populous county in the U.S. state of Indiana. Its area is just over 409.39 mi˛ (1060.32 sq km), of which, 406.47 square miles (1052.75 sq km) of it is land and 2.92 square miles (7.56 sq km) of it is water, it is the 38th largest by area in the U.S. state of Indiana.

The population density was 164.1 people per square mile (63.36/km˛), it is Indiana's 24th most densely populated county. There were 25908 housing units at an average density of 63.7 per square mile (24.59/km˛). The average household size was 2.7 and the average family size was 3.06. Age range in the county was well distributed with 27.2% under the age of 18, 7.7% from 18 to 24, 30.6% from 25 to 44, 23.8% from 45 to 64, and 10.6% who were 65 or older. For every 100 females there were 98.9 males. For every 100 females age 18 and over, there were 96.5 males. Its population was estimated at 70668 in July 2008, The racial makeup of the county was 97.98% White, 0.64% Black or African American, 0.23% American Indian, 0.37% Asian, 0.02% Native Hawaiian, and 0.75% from two or more races.
