Morgan County is a one of the county from Alabama's 67 counties, located in Southern Region (East South Central) of United States. According to the 2000 census it had a population of 111064 inhabitants. As of July 2008, the estimated population was 115959, It is the ninth largest in terms of population. Its area is just over 599.06 square miles (1551.56 kmē), of which, 582.21 square miles (1507.92 kmē) of it is land and 16.84 square miles (43.62 kmē) of it is water, giving it the eighth smallest by total area among Alabama's county.

In the county the population was spread out, with 25.3% under the age of 18, 8.4% from 18 to 24, 30.1% from 25 to 44, 23.8% from 45 to 64, and 12.3% who were 65 or older. For every 100 females there were 96.2 males. For every 100 females age 18 and over, there were 93.5 males. The county's estimated population as of July 2008 was 115959, The racial or ethnic makeup of the county was 85.48% White, 11.88% Black or African American, 0.75% American Indian, 0.65% Asian, 0.06% Native Hawaiian, and 1.19% from two or more races.
