Morehouse Parish is a parish located in Louisiana, in the Southern Region (West South Central) of United States. The parish has a population of 31021 as per the 2000 census data. Its population in July 2008 was estimated to be about 28602, making it Louisiana's 35th largest parish. It is spread over 805.2 miē (2085.46 kmē), of which, 794.25 square miles (2057.1 kmē ) of it is land and 10.95 square miles (28.36 kmē) of it is water, it is the 26th largest by area in the U.S. state of Louisiana.

As of the census of 2000, there were 31021 people in the parish, organized into 11382 households, and 8319 families living in the parish. The population density was 39.1 people per square mile (15.1/kmē), making its Louisiana's 38th most densely populated parish. There were 12711 housing units at an average density of 16 per square mile (6.18/kmē). The average household size was 2.64 and the average family size was 3.14. In the parish Age distribution was 27.5% under the age of 18, 9.5% from 18 to 24, 26.4% from 25 to 44, 21.4% from 45 to 64, and 15.1% who were 65 or older. For every 100 males there were 109.4 females. For every 100 males age 18 and over, there were 116.2 females. According to July 2008 Census Bureau estimates, the population of the parish is 28602, The racial makeup of the parish was 15578 White, 12753 Black or African American, 43 American Indian, 63 Asian, 3 Native Hawaiian, and 162 from two or more races.
