Moran City is a city located in Shackelford County, Texas, in the Southern Region (West South Central) of United States. According to the 2000 census it had a population of 233 inhabitants. In July 2008, its estimated population was 218, giving it the 136th smallest population among Texas. The city extends throughout a territory of 0.43 sq mi (1.11 square kilometre ), it is the 92nd smallest in terms of geographical size.

As of the census of 2000, there were 233 residents, 97 households, and 68 families in the city. The population density was 539 people per square mile (208.11/kmē), making its Texas's 961st most densely populated city.
