Monticello City is a city located in the San Juan County, Utah, United States. The population of the city was 1958 as per the 2000 census data. The city's estimated population as of July 2008 was 2018, It is 120th most populous in Utah. It is spread over 2.59 sq mi (6.71 kmē), making it Utah's 192nd largest by total area.

According to 2000 Census Bureau, there were 1958 people, 606 households, and 468 families residing in the city. The population density was 757.1 people per square mile (292.32/kmē), making it the 120th most densely populated city in Utah. There were 717 housing units at an average density of 276.8 per square mile (106.87/kmē). The average household size was 3.09 persons, and the average family size was 3.65 persons. In the city the population was spread out, with 36.5% under the age of 18, 7.6% from 18 to 24, 25.7% from 25 to 44, 17.9% from 45 to 64, and 12.3% who were 65 or older. For every 100 females there were 110.3 males. For every 100 females age 18 and over, there were 108.7 males. The racial makeup of the city was 1627 White, 2 Black or African American, 126 American Indian, 17 Asian, 3 Native Hawaiian, 46 from two or more races and 137 Ohter races.
