Monticello City is a city located in the Wright County, Minnesota, United States. According to the 2000 census it had a population of 7868 inhabitants. The city's estimated population as of July 2008 was 11780, It is Minnesota's 97th largest by population . It is spread over 6.22 mi˛ (16.11 sq km), giving it the 134th largest by total area among Minnesota.
