Monticello City, White County, Indiana is a city located in the Midwestern Region (East North Central) of United States. It is home to over 5723 people (2000 census). Its population in July 2008 was estimated to be about 5293, making it Indiana's 110th largest. The city encompasses an area of 3.01 mi˛ (7.8 square kilometre ), of which, 2.79 square miles (7.23 square kilometre) of it is land and 0.22 square miles (0.57 square kilometre) of it is water, making it Indiana's 146th largest by total area.
