Montgomery County, Missouri is a county of the United States of Missouri. As of 2000 the population was 12136. According to July 2008 Census Bureau estimates, the population of the county is 11804, It is Missouri's 33rd least populous county. The county comprises an area of 540.34 mi˛ (1399.47 sq km), of which, 537.46 square miles (1392.02 sq km) of it is land and 2.88 square miles (7.46 sq km) of it is water, it is the 71st largest by area in the U.S. state of Missouri.

The population's age distribution was 25.4% under the age of 18, 7.4% from 18 to 24, 26.1% from 25 to 44, 23.9% from 45 to 64, and 17.2% who were 65 or older. For every 100 females there were 98.1 males. For every 100 females age 18 and over, there were 93.7 males. As of July 2008, the estimated population was 11804, The racial makeup of the county was 11259 White, 274 Black or African American, 35 American Indian, 68 Asian, 1 Native Hawaiian, and 167 from two or more races.
