Montgomery County is a county located in the United States of Arkansas. In 2000, county's population was 9245 inhabitants. Its population in July 2008 was estimated to be about 9047, making it the tenth least populous county in Arkansas. The county spans an area of 800.29 miē (2072.74 kmē), of which, 780.93 square miles (2022.6 kmē) of it is land and 19.36 square miles (50.14 kmē) of it is water, it is the 20th largest by area in the U.S. state of Arkansas.

The population density was 11.8 people per square mile (4.56/kmē), it would be the third least densely populated county in the U.S. state of Arkansas. In the county the population was spread out, with 23.5% under the age of 18, 6.2% from 18 to 24, 25% from 25 to 44, 26.3% from 45 to 64, and 18.9% who were 65 or older. For every 100 females there were 96.2 males. For every 100 females age 18 and over, there were 95 males. The county's estimated population as of July 2008 was 9047, The racial or ethnic makeup of the county was 8696 White, 63 Black or African American, 121 American Indian, 37 Asian, 1 Native Hawaiian, and 129 from two or more races.
