Monterey Town is one of the town of Putnam County, Tennessee, located towards the Southern Region (East South Central) of United States. In 2000, town's population was 2717 inhabitants. As of July 2008, the estimated population of the town is 2924, It is Tennessee's 147th largest by population . It is spread over 2.96 sq mi (7.67 square kilometre), of which, 2.95 square miles (7.64 square kilometre ) of it is land and 0.01 square miles (0.03 square kilometre) of it is water, makes it the 233rd largest by total area in Tennessee.
