It is the 42nd largest by population in the U.S. state of Montana. The census designated place encompasses an area of 28.26 square miles (73.19 kmē ), of which, 28.23 square miles (73.12 kmē) of it is land and 0.03 square miles (0.08 kmē) of it is water, giving it the 11th largest by total area among Montana.
