Montague City is a city located in Siskiyou County, California, in the Western Region (Pacific) of United States. As per the 2000 census, city has a population of 1456 inhabitants. The July 2008 population estimate is 1454, It is 226th least populous in California. The city encompasses an area of 1.79 miē (4.64 kmē), giving it the 243rd smallest by total area among California.
