Monona City, Wisconsin is a city of the Dane County, Wisconsin, United States. In 2000, the population was 8018. As of July 2008, the estimated population of the city is 7837, It is the 91st largest by population in the U.S. state of Wisconsin. It covers total area of 3.42 sq mi (8.86 square kilometre), of which, 3.36 square miles (8.7 square kilometre) of it is land and 0.06 square miles (0.16 square kilometre) of it is water, making it the 195th largest by size in Wisconsin.

The population density was 2387.5 people per square mile (921.82/kmē), making it the 46th most densely populated city in Wisconsin.
