Monona City, Wisconsin is a city of the Dane County, Wisconsin, United States. In 2000, the population was 8018. As of July 2008, the estimated population of the city is 7837, It is the 91st largest by population in the U.S. state of Wisconsin. It covers total area of 3.42 sq mi (8.86 square kilometre), of which, 3.36 square miles (8.7 square kilometre) of it is land and 0.06 square miles (0.16 square kilometre) of it is water, making it the 195th largest by size in Wisconsin.

The racial or ethnic makeup of the city was 93.7% White, 2.31% Black or African American, 0.34% American Indian, 0.84% Asian, 0.04% Native Hawaiian, 1.47% from two or more races and 1.31% Other races.
