Moniteau County is a county located in Missouri, in the Midwestern Region (West North Central) of United States. According to the 2000 census it had a population of 14827 inhabitants. In July 2008, its estimated population was 15121, It is 70th most populous county in Missouri. Its area is just over 418.85 square miles (1084.82 kmē), of which, 416.52 square miles (1078.78 kmē) of it is land and 2.33 square miles (6.03 kmē) of it is water, making it Missouri's eighth smallest county by total area.

For every 100 males there were 88.2 females. For every 100 males age 18 and over, there were 85.6 females. Its population in July 2008 was estimated to be about 15121, The racial or ethnic makeup of the county was 14208 White, 616 Black or African American, 61 American Indian, 50 Asian, 2 Native Hawaiian, and 184 from two or more races.
