Moffat County is a United States county located in the United States of Colorado. It is home to over 13184 people (2000 census). In July 2008, its estimated population was 13840, It is Colorado's 33rd most populous county. It covers total area of 4750.94 square miles (12304.88 square kilometre), of which, 4742.25 square miles (12282.37 square kilometre) of it is land and 8.69 square miles (22.51 square kilometre) of it is water, it is the second largest in terms of geographical size.

In the county the population was spread out, with 28.5% under the age of 18, 8.6% from 18 to 24, 29.9% from 25 to 44, 23.8% from 45 to 64, and 9.4% who were 65 or older. For every 100 females there were 107.7 males. For every 100 females age 18 and over, there were 106.2 males. As of July 2008, the estimated population was 13840, The racial or ethnic makeup of the county was 13318 White, 69 Black or African American, 154 American Indian, 83 Asian, 4 Native Hawaiian, and 212 from two or more races.
