Mitchell City is a city in the Scotts Bluff County, Nebraska, United States. Mitchell City had an official population of 1831 in 2000. Its population was estimated at 1785 in July 2008, It is the 63rd largest by population in the U.S. state of Nebraska. The city comprises an area of 0.67 square miles (1.74 square kilometre), giving it the 155th largest by total area among Nebraska.
