Mitchell City is a United States city located in the Lawrence County, Indiana, United States. In 2000, city's population was 4567 inhabitants. In July 2008, its estimated population was 4567, giving it the 129th largest population among Indiana. The city comprises an area of 3.4 mi˛ (8.81 sq km), of which, 3.39 square miles (8.78 sq km) of it is land and 0.01 square miles (0.03 sq km) of it is water, it is the 134th largest by area in the U.S. state of Indiana.
