Mission Hills City is a United States city located in the Johnson County, Kansas, United States. In 2000, the population was 3593. Its population in July 2008 was estimated to be about 3568, It is the 73rd most populous in the U.S. state of Kansas. The city extends throughout a territory of 2.02 square miles (5.23 kmē ), it is the 98th largest by area in the U.S. state of Kansas.

As of the census of 2000, there were 3593 people in the city, organized into 1284 households, and 1104 families residing in the city. The population density was 1782.5 people per square mile (688.23/kmē), it is Kansas's 88th most densely populated city. There were 1318 housing units at an average density of 652.5 per square mile (251.93/kmē). The average household size was 2.8 and the average family size was 3.06. In the city the population is diverse age-wise, with 29.6% under the age of 18, 3.1% from 18 to 24, 18.1% from 25 to 44, 32.5% from 45 to 64, and 16.8% who were 65 or older.
