Mission City is a United States city located in the Johnson County, Kansas, United States. The city has a population of 9727 as per the 2000 census data. As of July 2008, the population was estimated at 9765, It is Kansas's 35th largest by population . Its area is just over 2.53 square miles (6.55 square kilometre), making it the 79th largest by size in Kansas.
