Missaukee County, Michigan is a county of the United States of Michigan. In 2000, the population was 14478. The July 2008 population estimate is 15001, It is the 15th least populous county in the U.S. state of Michigan. The county has a total area of 573.82 miē (1486.19 kmē), of which, 566.75 square miles (1467.88 kmē) of it is land and 7.08 square miles (18.34 kmē) of it is water, it is the 17th smallest by area in the U.S. state of Michigan.


According to 2000 Census Bureau, there were 14478 people, 5450 households, and 4046 families living in the county. The population density was 25.5 people per square mile (9.85/kmē), making it the 17th least densely populated county in Michigan. There were 8621 housing units at an average density of 15.2 per square mile (5.87/kmē). The average household size was 2.62 persons, and the average family size was 3.03 persons. In the county the population was spread out, with 27.1% under the age of 18, 7.5% from 18 to 24, 27.2% from 25 to 44, 23.4% from 45 to 64, and 14.8% who were 65 or older. For every 100 males there were 100.5 females. For every 100 males age 18 and over, there were 102 females. Its population was estimated at 15001 in July 2008, The racial or ethnic makeup of the county was 14624 White, 92 Black or African American, 87 American Indian, 33 Asian, 0 Native Hawaiian, and 165 from two or more races.
