Minot City, Ward County, North Dakota is a city located in the Midwestern Region (West North Central) of United States. Minot City had an official population of 36567 in 2000. As of July 2008, the population was estimated at 35419, It is the fourth most populous in the U.S. state of North Dakota. It has total area of 14.57 sq mi (37.74 sq km), of which, 14.55 square miles (37.68 sq km) of it is land and 0.02 square miles (0.05 sq km) of it is water, making it North Dakota's seventh largest by total area.

As of the census of 2000, there were 36567 people in the city, organized into 15520 households, and 9265 families living in the city. The population density was 2513.1 people per square mile (970.31/kmē), it is North Dakota's third most densely populated city. There were 16475 housing units at an average density of 1132.3 per square mile (437.18/kmē). The average household size was 2.27 and the average family size was 2.9. In the city Age distribution was 23.2% under the age of 18, 13.3% from 18 to 24, 27.4% from 25 to 44, 20.7% from 45 to 64, and 15.4% who were 65 or older. For every 100 females there were 93.1 males.
